"On Saturday 30th April LQA, a local outdoor adventure group, came down to the docks to try out some boats. Fran and John came down to help from the shore and Martha led the session from the water. We started with a short journey in a range of craft, including touring kayaks, river kayaks and open canoes.
"After a brief skills session and a race to test out the strengths of each boat, we got out at the jetty and swapped places for our paddle back to the shore. The adventurous group then decided to test drive some more boats including the WWR boats, a sea kayak and John's canoe sailing rig. There were a few swims at this point (Martha led by example after getting slightly too confident in the Pink Pig) but thankfully the water wasn't too cold.
"The session ended with a group trip out on the mega sup. A combination of good teamwork and bad singing ensured all were paddling in time, while an adapted game of musical chairs ensured that no one was left dry. A great day was had by all and perhaps the club will have some new members soon."
