Memories of a fantastic Fathers Day were made today on and off the Crake at Greenodd. Plenty of DCC members turned up to make this a day to remember. On land there was plenty of room to practise throwing a line and learning the correct way to lay in the water when being rescued as demonstrated very well by one of our members. Then once everyone had got the hang of it it was on to the water to be rescued for real. This boosted the confidence of the youngsters and those that hadnt capzied before. A great time was had by all and not just the Dads.Hot dogs and cake were available on the day.

On June 17th DCC members took part in the annual Summer Solstice race on Lake Windermere. Awaiting a report from Scott on the days race.
This evening saw the second race of our clubs summer series. So I'll start this post by saying a massive thanks to the support and dedication of our members. Without their organisation and planning such events wouldn't go ahead. A massive thanks also goes to those who act as safety both on and off the water and the various photographers for getting evidence of those who swim and those who don't :) There isn't much more to add so here's the pictures. Hopefully there is one of everyone! I've now been passed some Videos of the racing which can be found here (hopefully) With the start of summer and the weather being warm for once the docks on Friday were very busy with a lot of different activities taking part. such as open canoeing, general paddle followed by polo at the bulls nose, paddle boards, etc and with it being so nice the youngsters decided to end the evening with jumping in. A great night was had by all.
