At the beginning of the month a group from the local deaf association came for a session at the docks. I think they must have enjoyed themselves - they have booked another session for September!

DCC members spent a fantastic weekend together up at Thurston, near Coniston where they camped for the weekend making good use of the lake and the facilities provided. https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjA2QKt Todays family paddle was held on Killington Lake. Conditions were a bit windy so didnt get chance to explore as much as they would have liked. Because we had use of the lake for several hours the paddle was in two halves with dinner in between. We were joined at lunch by the local free range hens that took great delight in trying to eat our sarnies. A great day was had by all. Thanks go to Sarah for organising the paddle and demonstrating how to hold a chicken. https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjA271Z
This Friday training session was well attended with many youngsters taking to the water to practise. Before the session was finished all had to be off the water to allow Heart of Oak and Pelican of London, a tall ship to sail past up to Morrisons where they were moored ready for display on Saturday to the locals. Once they had passed by everyone got straight back on to the water to carry on training with John. https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjA22cK
