"Only the hardy adults avoided the dreaded lurgy which is laying low the youth of the club. A dozen adults had a very enjoyable (and peaceful) trip round the north end of Coniston Water. Starting at Monk Coniston we drifted east over the mirror like surface down to Fur Island where a leisurely lunch was taken. Rested and fed our 6 kayaks and 4 open canoes made for the west shore and so north to the head of the lake. It was great to catch up with old friends and gossip about past exploits and future plans. I expect any juniors reading this will be glad they missed out on all this excitement!!" John Sherwen. Great pictures of the day by Carol and Andy.

"Had a GREAT afternoon with duddon canoe club polo crew,,, we had one team in the advance league another in the novice due to 4 of the team being exchange students from Germany, they've only been coming down the club playing for a few months, Kirsty Bentley and I decided to play alongside side these, all very nervous to start with but getting stuck in and doing great, despite us scoring a few trying hard we lost all the league games, keeping the girls going telling them to just enjoy it's time for 4th, us and 3rd to play for 3rd place....
WE ONLY MANAGE TO WIN woop woop " DCC polo coach Michelle🏐🚣♀️💪 Todays family paddle got off to a misty start from Fell Foot but as the day went on the sun came out. We travelled up the lake stopping at YMCA south for lunch and a chat before turning across the lake paddling back down the east side. Everyone enjoyed the paddle and the lovely views of the lake and its surroundings.
The conditions were good at the docks this afternoon so three groups took to the water, race training, oc training and general paddle. DCC welcomed visitors from down south today. They all enjoyed being out on the water for a paddle. Afterwards it was all into the brew cabin for tea before watching some great fireworks from the dock side. A great time was had by all. Thanks go to Scott for organising a great evening.
