DCC members Julie and John regularly attend the Barrow Park run held each week. This weekend John completed his 200th run while Julie completed her 100th. Well done to both.
John was out again on Sunday at the Brigg marathon. 3rd again in Div. 7 but not last this time!!
Saturday saw 9 club members on the river Leven. At first sight it all looked VERY intimidating but as we reached the river side we could access water that was not crashing over rocks in a thundering mass of white foam!! Four new to moving water - all did very well with mastering some of the basic skills needed on rivers, one back on a river after years off, one testing out her new kayak and three instructing the novice paddlers. Thanks also to the four on shore members offering moral support and safety cover.
John Congratulations
to Sarah who completed her first K1 Hasler marathon race on Sunday. John was also there and was 3rd in div 7. Pictures by Sarah Mason and Shropshire paddlesport. Today six members of DCC raced on the canal at Macclesfield. All did very well and came home with several medals. One young member who competed at Macclesfield in a K2 with her Nana, was overjoyed to win her first mug. As usual a great day was had by all who competed, with one of DCC's coaches celebrating her birthday. https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjA9wGA
Today was an early start for some as it was the Hasler Finals at Runnymede. 5 DCC members are competing today. They are joining 100's of flatwater paddlers from all over the country.
